PDF to web funnel

The form becomes a conversation. And your PDF at the end.

An application form with forty fields is intimidating, no matter how nicely it's designed. A funnel instead asks one question after another, skips what doesn't apply, and leads step by step to completion — while the same PDF gets filled out in the background.

Funnel and form share the same elements — you just decide how it's delivered.

How It Works

From Document to Guided Path

  1. 01

    Read the PDF

Same as with the form: fields are recognized, types are assigned, and the connection to the document is stored.

  2. 02

    Shape Questions From It

You arrange the fields in an order that reads like a conversation — the easy questions first, the demanding ones later, once there's already momentum.

  3. 03

    Set Branching

Every answer determines what happens next: jump to a specific question, complete the process successfully, or end it if someone doesn't meet the requirements.

  4. 04

    Publish and Evaluate

The funnel runs embedded on your page. Submissions land in the inbox, and that's where you pick up the filled-out PDF.

Flow Designer

See the branching, instead of having to picture it.

Each question is a node, each answer is a connection. You draw the line from an answer to the next question and see immediately which path leads where — and at which point someone drops out of the process. In the past, the same spot held a typed-in number, and no one could tell if it was correct.

  • Answer → jump target as a visible line instead of a typed-in ID
  • Success and dismiss are their own endpoints, not a special case in the text
  • Arrange nodes freely, sort answers within a question

PDF Import

The file becomes a form. And becomes the file again.

asksteps reads the form fields from your PDF, builds the online form from it page by page, and writes the answers back into that exact document at the end. What you download is your original file — not a recreation that someone would have to approve all over again.

  • Text fields, checkboxes, dropdown lists, and signature fields are detected
  • One form step per PDF page
  • Read-only fields are left untouched

Why a Funnel Gets More Completions Than a Form

One Question Instead of Forty Fields

Someone who sees a page with forty fields sizes up the effort and closes the tab. Someone who sees a single question answers it.

No One Answers What Doesn't Apply

Branching lets you skip entire sections that don't apply to this person. That shortens the path noticeably and prevents follow-up questions.

Filter Out Early

If someone doesn't meet a basic requirement, you can end the process cleanly at that point — with a friendly explanation instead of a rejected application three weeks later.

The Same Data

Funnel or form: the answers land in the same fields of the same PDF. You can switch the delivery format without rebuilding the way back.

Built for the Phone

Large buttons, one thought per screen, visible progress. On a small display, that's the difference between submitted and abandoned.

Contact Details at the End

The contact step can be freely assembled — only the fields you actually need, in the order you set.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About the Funnel

What's the difference between a funnel and a form?

A form shows fields in steps and has everyone follow the same path. A funnel asks questions and decides after each answer what happens next. You build both in the same Studio, and both can fill out the same PDF.

Can I build both from one PDF?

The import first creates a form. If you want a guided path, you build the funnel alongside it and use the same field mapping.

How does the branching work?

Every answer option carries a target: a specific follow-up question, successful completion, or ending the process. You set this in the visual editor by connecting nodes.

Can I see where people drop off?

You can see the submissions and statistics for your funnels in the Studio. A breakdown of drop-off by individual question is planned but not yet available.

Does the funnel run on my existing website?

Yes. It's embedded as an element on your page and adapts to your colors — you don't need a new website or a migration.
